This bike as you can probably see presents as new.

It was owned by my Dad who purchased the bike in early 2009 to ride with my Sister who was too young to be out on the road by herself. Before Dad knew it...she was too quick for him and it was pointless him being out on the road...now she’s old enough and Dad’s not riding. They used to ride from Mt Colah to Pie in the Sky via the old pacific highway....not a dirty horrible rough road....this is the only route this bike has taken!!

Dad’s a perfectionist and I ride competitively on a flash bike (haha) and I take after him...I’m a perfectionist too! This bike is the cleanest out on the road or new in the bike shops....take a look at the photos. It has been under a drop sheet in the back of the garage for probably the last 2 years. The tyres had 20 psi when I pulled it out for the photos!!

I don’t think it has even been 300km. Has original bar tape and cables. This bike presents as new.

Visual Condition:

9.5 / 10

Bikes drive train was cleaned with Kero ....as new!

Paint work had been washed with Maguire’s NXT Soft wash

Mr Sheened with two coats

Polished – Autoglym Super Resin Polish!!

Rubber hoods finished in Mother’s Black rubber cleaner

Then finished off with Maguire’s final Inspection!

Paint is obviously super smooth and its like a car....its first few polishes will protect it forever

Mechanical condition:

Tuned to perfection by me....not from a bike shop....all they do is put it on the stand and tune it there....but what happens when resistance comes into play.

No hesitation in gear shifts...absolutely spot on!

Sprayed with TF2 Teflon spray in all derailleur linkages and springs, cables etc.

Chain and drivetrain lubed with Rock N Roll Gold

Brake pads and braking surface was cleaned with Metholated Spirits.

Pads are as new and stop superbly!

Factory changes include:

Seat was swapped from my sisters old race bike....the only one Dad felt comfortable on. This seat has a scuff mark on the side where it was crashed on her bike.

Tyres were changed – bike originally came with Specialised Zero tyres....they are appalling....they have hard edges so while going around the corner....especially in the wet....good chance in sliding out!

Brand new or 95% new Continental GP4000s tyres – retail at $100 each....the ultimate clincher tyre! Absolutely beautiful still hasn’t worn through the excess rubber on the centre strip!

Overall:

Absolutely perfect 1st road bike – I could not recommend a better bike to start with. I originally had the 2007 Avanti Giro and it is probably still my favourite bike....good memories but it did do a lot of work in the end. So at one stage we had three in the family....a white one and two green!

Keep in mind that your first road bike is a base that you can build on, and the whole point of owning a road bike is to improve yourself as a cyclist, and to improve the bike to match your growing abilities. Everything on a bike is adjustable for position - so what you want in a first roadie is a decent frame + a decent groupset at a great price.

The 10 speed 105 groupset is fantastic - there is only a marginal gap going up to ultegra or dura ace now. 105 is way good enough for your first years of road riding. The only real difference is weight

The aluminum frame on the Giro is very strong and durable, and quite light. Carbon seat stays and forks are a very worthwhile touch, and not something you can add to a frame down the track.

The Giros are truly a good looking bike....and trust me there are some ugly ones out there!!

Also included is a basic kit that will get you going a bit including:

Dunlop LED and Halogen light – four new batteries – 3 settings including bright halogen, dull halogen, bright led

Rear light Zero branded– brand new – with heaps of settings....very nice light!

Pickup from Mt Colah or you can arrange courier....happy to assist in packaging for a small fee.

Any questions...please don’t hesitate to contact me
